Set up Tips

Technical Set up data

I have notice that there is very little information on bike and chassis set up available to the average racer. I can see why the factory teams do not release the set-ups they use, but I don't think that the amature racer has anything to gain by keep his/her bike set-up a secret. I also think that if I had had something to go from I might have gotten faster, faster.

So I intend to break the trend and publish all my set-up sheets here. I will also cover modifications that I have made to my bikes, what worked, what didn't, and what was the most bang for the buck. Also if you send me your set-ups I will post them here aswell.

Enjoy!

What I have done to set-up my 2000 GSX-R 750:

  1. Replaced stock bodywork with Multitech race bodywork.
  2. Replaced stock steering damper with a Hyperpro steering damper.
  3. Had the front and rear suspention re-valved and re-sprung by Aftershocks Suspention.
  4. Added spacers to the rear shock mount to raise the rear ride height. Exact dimensions will be published after I measure them.
  5. Put on a DID ERV2 520 chain and got a plethora of sprockets.
    • Front 15
    • Front 16
    • Front 17
    • Rear 43
    • Rear 44
